A LITTLE ACTIVISM...
The Ecotainer hot cup is a very nice product; sturdy, biodegradable and available in many convenient sizes. For thousands of restaurants, coffee shops,  offices, break-rooms, etc., this sturdy paper cup is an excellent and affordable alternative to polystyrene. The Ecotainers have a PLA (corn-based) liner that makes them fully compostable. However the manufacturer, International Paper, needs to incorporate post-consumer recycled content into the cup to make it more truly eco-friendly. We at GreenLine know that this is possible because a few years ago Starbucks introduced 10% recycled fiber into their hot cups (FDA approved).
Tell International Paper to get on the ball and put some recycled content into their line of Ecotainer disposable containers. Please e-mail them here. |
