PRESS RELEASE

(Phila., Pa.) — In an era where company’s business practices are focusing more on the triple bottom line of people, planet, and profit, GreenLine Paper Company was honored to receive the 2008 Triple Bottom Line Award from the Sustainable Business Network of Greater Philadelphia. The Triple Bottom Line Awards recognize locally-owned businesses that are financially successful while demonstrating praiseworthy social and environmental practices. The goal of this initiative is to hold up best practices within the Sustainable Business Network community.

GreenLine Paper Company opened as a fully green, office supply company in 1992, well before the country’s more universally recognized environmental movement. Owner and environmentalist Steve Baker is dedicated solely to the sale of quality, environmentally sound office and home products.

“This award will serve as a constant reminder for us to always consider the triple bottom line in our daily business decisions,” says Baker. “It is a great honor and a source of inspiration for our organization.”

GreenLine’s online and print catalog offers hundreds of products from 100 percent recycled copier paper to compostable coffee cups and non-toxic cleaning products — even organic and fairly traded coffees, teas, sugar, and chocolate. The catalog’s products can be used for a vast number of applications in the office, food service, hospitality industry, schools, and home.

GreenLine is dedicated to selling only recycled and tree-free papers and many of the paper products are whitened without chlorine. The company reduces shipping waste by reusing shipping cartons and packing them with only recyclable paper or biodegradable peanuts. No new boxes are used for shipping unless they are already manufacturer packaged, and only post-consumer recycled or tree-free fiber paper is used for catalogs. The company’s vision is to grow with the support of satisfied customers and help lead the office products industry to higher levels of environmental sustainability.

GreenLine Paper offers a Green Office Certification to companies and other organizations which meet environmentally friendly certification requirements. Applicants must use energy wisely, recycle, use recycled products, and be environmentally savvy. Questions concerning topics like energy, building construction, supplies, recycling, and transportation determine the company’s green ranking. Companies which fulfill the requirements will receive a certification graphic for their Web site, which when clicked, will show the date of certification. Applicants will now also receive a door/window decal. GreenLine also offers their monthly Green Office News e-newsletter with environmental news and tips on greener office practices.

Office products are generally deemed to be environmentally friendly if they are manufactured from recycled materials thereby conserving natural resources and reducing waste. Others are compostable, biodegradable, non-toxic, certified to be sustainable, or simply reusable. Every product in the GreenLine catalog is environmentally responsible and scrutinized for authenticity of manufacturer claims. Revolutionary new technologies are bringing scores of new products into the marketplace that not only help save the planet but also offer a high degree of quality and performance. Examples include biodegradable food containers and eating utensils made from PLA, a corn-based clear “plastic,” and tree-free, bagasse containers made from the waste fibers of the sugar manufacturing industry.

Supporting an exclusively green products company like GreenLine helps them to grow and increase their economic clout in the marketplace. By investing in companies which don’t mix “100% virgin” paper products with recycled products, consumers create more demand for higher post-consumer content in paper products and cleaner manufacturing methods.

The GreenLine catalog is free and available upon request at 800-641-1117, by e-mail at info@greenlinepaper.com , or may be electronically downloaded at www.greenlinepaper.com.
